SoCal Auto Museums
SoCal North Loop Tour
Rescheduled in progress
Join up to 20 of your best new gearhead buddies to visit (9) auto museums and private auto collections in the “Northern” Southern California region, the best automotive bookstore on the west coast, and check out the original Burbank Bob’s Big Boy Cruise Night! You could do some of this on your own – but isn’t it more fun to go with a group of like-minded folks, and NOBODY has to navigate the LA traffic!! We all get to relax in the comfort of a luxury charter coach to, from, and between stops. In addition, being part of the Museum group, the tours are more in depth and there are features that are offered only to us!
Our tour will be based in Burbank at the Springhill Suites Los Angeles Burbank/Downtown hotel, walking distance to quaint downtown Burbank and its plethora of restaurants. Settle into our home base for 6 nights. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel daily, and the tour includes 2 dinners and one lunch.
You won’t have to contend with or navigate through traffic as we ride in the comfort of a private charter coach.
Enjoy a variety of California automotive culture from Ed ‘Big Daddy’ Roth customs at the Galpin Autosports Collection (an exclusive tour for CAM), some beautiful classics at the Nethercutt Collection in Sylmar (where we will be toured through their Art Deco classics showroom and see the Music Machine collection. The tour will make a run up to the Oxnard/Thousand Oaks area and take in the French Art-Deco cars in the Mullin Museum, a broad collection of historic American Cars and Car Art at the Murphy Automobile Museum, and visit the private collection that Mike Malamut Collection has put together over the years. We will spend an afternoon at the Petersen Museum (and are planning on a private Vault Tour). When in Burbank, a visit to Autobooks-Aerobooks is always a treat, and we are working to arrange a book signing with author Sylvia Wilkinson and pro driver John Morton. A signed book is included as part of the tour. A day will be dedicated out in Duarte and Pomona to visit the Justice Brothers Private Collection (we are working to have Ed Justice Jr himself be our guide) and Wally Parks NHRA Museum. Justice Brothers automotive chemicals have been a staple in many of our own shops. They have been sponsoring all manner of American racing machines and has an extensive collection of American racing vehicles. A stop at the NHRA Museum will give us insight and education to Drag Racing with a great display of historic Drag and Land Speed cars and memorabilia.
As is common with Good Carma Travel tours, there may be some additional ‘Easter Egg’ surprises on the trip with additional stops to special shops or private collections. You gotta register to be able to see what shop or private collection may be added to the itinerary!
Our tour group size minimum is 10 – the trip will not happen for a group size smaller than this. Maximum group size is 20.
